Pontypridd’s Own Breed of Soul Rock PEASANT’S KING Release New Single ‘GIVE A LITTLE LOVE’ 6th July

The Rhondda Valleys lie in the heart of South Wales, and what was a former mining location has grown to become synonymous with soaring melodic rock music as Chicago has with the blues. These valleys are home to a hot bed of young talent where one band in particular, PEASANT’S KING, continues to fly the flag with their own breed of soulful rock with their stomping brand new single GIVE A LITTLE LOVE on 6th July.

“’Give A Little Love’ tells the story of a young man falling in love for the first time. He has no idea what love is, or what it means. The lyrics shadow his movements around the school playground, his emotions, actions such as writing his sweethearts’ name on his hand, and the fear of telling her that how he feels. He’s too young to realise how he feels”

– Danni Lafrombè, Vocals

GIVE A LITTLE LOVE, created in collaboration with established Welsh producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals), is taken from PEASANT’S KING’s debut album DAVID to be released in autumn, the concept of which was created by singer Danni Lafrombè to document the life of his late Grandfather who sadly passed before he was born. The artwork for GIVE A LITTLE LOVE is an actual photograph of his Grandfather as a boy, and each song from the forthcoming album will reflect a different chapter of his life.

Signing to Visible Noise in 2013 to release reissues of double EP bundle Kingdom and Four Walls Are Home, the soulful, dulcet vocals of Danni Lafrombè combined with the soaring musical backbone of Rhodri Parry, Harry Lee, Lewys Mann and Josh Bowles instantly perked up the ears of BBC Introducing, resulting in airplay of lead track Antidotes from Fearne Cotton, Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Greg James and Scott Mills. Further backing from the programme landed PEASANT’S KING a sub-headlining slot on the BBC Introducing stage at 2013’s Reading Festival. They have since gone on to support Twin Atlantic, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Gabrielle Aplin and, more recently, Young Kato. VEVO also invited PEASANT’S KING to showcase their previous single Promised Land on their hotly anticipated talent platform DSCVR.

Expect more from this fierce band of brothers who are in the final stages of creating DAVID, before its release later this year, and are gearing up for appearances at Hay Festival, X Music Festival and Moon Fest this summer, with further dates to be announced soon.
