This Thursday make your way to The Blacksheep Bar in Ryde for a night of great local music (and cake?) all in aid of the Nepal Earthquake Appeal. Doors open at 7:30pm, heaps of original local music, FREE entry-ish (donations greatly accepted – don’t be a cheapskate) with the added warm fuzzy feeling inside knowing that you are helping to make a difference. Aww.
On Saturday 25 April a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal. It severely shook the lives of at least 8m people and left many homeless. Nepal’s major cities, including the capital Kathmandu, have been badly damaged and rural areas near the epicentre have been completely cut off by avalanches.
Already over 7000 people have been confirmed dead and the figure is likely to rise significantly in the coming days. Even those whose homes are still standing are sleeping in the streets because they are terrified by regular aftershocks.
If you can’t make it, or want to start early, here’s a link to donate now: DONATE HERE!

After a groundbreaking 2014, Duveaux are back for 2015 with a new EP, and it’s better than ever.
Guaranteed to get you dancing, swaying, grooving and moving in any kind of spontaneously subconscious manner that you can muster! With influences apparent from powerful, yet soothing, Bowie-esque vocals to grinding Strokes styled riffs embellishing grooves that sway from Hip-Hop to Gypsy Jazz; Duveaux’s eclectic assault on popular music creates a smorgasbord of sound that cannot fail to get the crowd going…
‘Yank Heartstrings were formed by a mutual love of authentic country/folk/rock music by two former members of Island band The Bees, Kris Birkin and Warren Hampshire, Kathy Lockwood makes up the trio and they play an accoustic mixture of their own songs and covers of traditional American Folk music.’
2015 has so far seen Claydon play at the O2 for Country to Country festival, added to the line up for this years Isle of wight Festival and perform live on BBCRadio Solent for the launch of his late single. Has has recently returned from a successful trip to Nashville where he showcased ‘Under The Big Sky’ along with new material to many of the fabulous venues ‘Music City’ has to offer.
