Band on da run is a new way of showcasing talent from across the Island and raising money for a local charity.

30 bands, 30 venues, play as many 10min acoustic sets as possible, win £1000 and a slot at Post Fest 2013. All within 5 hours!

Each band member will have a charity sticker with a number to text to donate. Every text costs £3 which goes directly to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

The band that plays the most 10 minute sets will be announced at 4pm in Lloyds Bar where the bands can relax with a cool refreshment and enjoy music from the host band – The Cardinal Richelieu.

Song of the day- “True Loves” by Hooray For Earth

Published

on

Last night we went to see The Wombats over in Southampton which was absolutely amazing, just as amazing as the first time we saw them in Portsmouth however many years ago that was. The support band last night was pretty good too, between acts we were reminiscing of the last time round – the time we discovered Hooray For Earth. It was such a weird experience, I remember at the time we were ready to cast our critical views on the band but were just blown away with how intense this band was. Just noise and bass, sound effects, repeating synths and that ‘CHING’ noise found in todays song of the day – True Loves. Enjoy.

Documentary Photos/Video

Published

With social media its not just about accumulating, and marketing to, fans. Its about interacting with them, making them feel close and personally knowing the artist/band.

By taking documentary photographs and/or video of the rehearsing/recording process it provides a way to interact with fans, keep them up to date on how things are going and include them in the process – thus resulting in more feedback and interaction and heightening the chances they’ll tell a friend or buy the music when its being released – as they have watched it develop they are keen to see the final result.

Since you’re in the studio recording anyway there isn’t a lot of planning and organising to take place. We’ll just come in to the session at a time that’s convenient and we can get some action shots, photographs to sum up the vibe and atmosphere of the room and give an insight in to the recording process. We can even shoot some HD video (which can be edited into a short segment) and deliver both the photos and video in a format ready for the internet, ready to be shared and reach new audiences.
